Season One (2009) Winners
2009, the first year of The Stepping Stone Film Festival (S2F2), saw over a 100 films from 17 countries around the world. The overall standard and quality of films we received was outstanding and the competition, very, very close. Choosing but a handful of films from such a huge number has been no simple task — they were indeed tough decisions to make.
The Stepping Stone FEATURE FILM OF 2009 Award, in recognition of outstanding craftsmanship in filmmaking and overall narrative, artistic and technical excellence in a feature-length film: [Not Awarded] To avoid confusion, we wish to let you know that we received too few entries (only 3 official selections) to make the feature film category a legitimate competition, hence the decision to hold back on awards. Please note that this is not a reflection of the quality of films in any manner whatsoever. We hope to receive more entries for season two and be able to expand the category. - The S2F2 Team THE LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE Award for 2009, in recognition of outstanding craftsmanship in filmmaking on a limited budget goes to [Not Awarded] The INDIA CALLING category (short as well as feature) received too few entries to make it a legitimate competition.
