Synopsis
BHOBHAR explores the life and relationships of a small village farmer and laborer Rewat who despite being infamous as an alcoholic is a hardworking and warm hearted person. His life gets shattered one night when he catches his close friend Puran sneaking out of his room. Beaten up Puran accuses that an alcoholic’s wife is no more than a whore. Besides, he demands back his loan which he had given to Rewat for his daughter’s wedding. Rewat is forced to sell his camel cart to pay back the loan. Rewat stops communicating with his wife Sohni since that day. Several years pass until one day when Sohni and his youngest son Ganesh beat up his other son Shanker for getting married to a girl from other cast, inebriated Rewat calls Sohni a whore and shouts that why she doesn’t let children decide their course of life. Ganesh looses his temper and slaps his father for insulting his mother. Dismayed Rewat leaves his house and family until Puran finds him in the hospital. Puran meets Sohni and tells her about Rewat. The feelings of Sohni for Rewat, which she has kept alive in her heart alike BHOBHAR (the live ash) gets rekindled and hence the title. Also begins the redemption of Puran and the story unfolds. Besides, the language is Rajasthani as the film is based on Rajasthan’s backdrop and highlights its culture and lifestyle.
